5/25/11 BACK TO BASICS L4D2 Servers have been taken offline. Scavenge mode is dead. Moving on to playing a wider variety of games. Check my Steam profile to find out which games I'm playing now. 12/1/10 STILL KICKIN' So Tool Shed was short lived after I figured out I couldn't reliably host a public server on my DHCP residential internet connection. Not only that, but Verizon blocks outbound port 80 so I couldn't even host my website. So Tool Shed has been down, but in between then and now, I've been playing a lot of L4D and L4D2. Versus whore on L4D and scavenge whore on L4D2. Find me at Steam Group: Scavenge Pro I just started renting an L4D2 server for $10 bux a month...cheaper than the electricity I'd have to pay at home to have a computer running 24/7. Stress free too. Should have gone this route a long time ago. Still calling it The Tool Shed, even though it's an L4D2 server now. Yeah, I know, it's not Counter-Strike, but there's plenty of CS servers still out there. Half-Life is still that one game that was the spark for my online gaming obsession, but CS will always be that one game that opened the door for meeting a hell of a lot of cool and fun people. Just last night I was reviewing my enormous collection of screenshots and pictures from the LANs and games played. Good times. Man I have to post some of those pictures, but I'm too lazy. Anyone looking for some side work to do my web upkeep? I pay cash. Tool Shed L4D2 Server IP is 69.90.189.47:27015 Playing a lot of other stuff too. Collecting games on Steam. Currently 169 total not including the non-steam games I have installed. Those sale prices are just too damn tempting. Still have about 2 dozen I need to try. Paid off my house as of May 2010. It's the easy life from here on out. 8/8/08 WE'RE BACK!! After 3 years of being offline, Tool Shed is back. Server IP is 96.247.83.239:27015 so start fragging it up again! Everything is running on Linux now. Props to everyone who has written online information on setting up a painless Linux server because I know pretty much nothing about this OS and am still ramping up to speed on how to maneuver. Most important thing is the server is up and running. I don't think it's on the Steam master server list so I'll have to figure that out later. Match server should be up shortly as well. Current projects include working on moving www.JonesR.com to this machine as well as adding a SQL server so I can get Psychostats working again. All this stuff will take time, but I'm sure everyone is used to things moving slowly on this site. Thinking about setting up a COD4 server also, but haven't looked into it yet. Stay tuned..... |
