8/8/08 WE'RE BACK!! After 3 years of being offline, Tool Shed is back. Server IP is 96.247.83.239:27015 so start fragging it up again! Everything is running on Linux now. Props to everyone who has written online information on setting up a painless Linux server because I know pretty much nothing about this OS and am still ramping up to speed on how to maneuver. Most important thing is the server is up and running. I don't think it's on the Steam master server list so I'll have to figure that out later. Match server should be up shortly as well. Current projects include working on moving www.JonesR.com to this machine as well as adding a SQL server so I can get Psychostats working again. All this stuff will take time, but I'm sure everyone is used to things moving slowly on this site. Thinking about setting up a COD4 server also, but haven't looked into it yet. Stay tuned..... 3/15/06 RAWR! Damn, I need to clean the cobwebs from this site. Some things never change. And other things do. So basically Tool Shed got the boot since someone finally hacked it and turned it into a spam machine. It's sitting in a room collecting cobwebs like this website. After the demise, I figured my ISP was charging me too much money for the level of service I was getting ($70/mo). Since I no longer had a server and didn't really play Counter-Strike anymore, I figured to go save $50 bux by signing up directly with Verizon and put it to good use, like JD. Wish I could say there was something special going on. About the only excitement I have happening is the remodel of my bathroom. Frack'n 2005 storms really screwed me over good with my roof leak so I finally got someone on the job to get 'er done. Should be done before the July 4th party. 10th annual coming up which I can't believe. Put about 5 grand into it so far with new fixtures and everything. I play CS every once in a while. You'll see me whoring in IRC spamming as a ringer. I also still play HL every blue moon. I've also started dabbling in Quake Arena since that's the only thing Seth will play cause he's too damn cheap to upgrade his graphics cards to play anything decent. That and that's the only game he can consistently beat me at. Although, we are getting closer matched all the time. Been playing lots of online poker -- winning and losing depending on the day you ask me. Overall, it's actually decent money. It certainly pays for the alcohol and then some. Pays more money than the cheap bonuses they give at work, although the game is certainly a lot of work in itself to consistently come out ahead. Still, as long as you have patience and discipline, it's pretty easy to win with all the bad players. My dad gave me his 87 Pontiac Trans-Am for Christmas. What a gift that was. Car still runs tits. Has the old L98 350 TPI Corvette engine in it. Talk about hauling ass. This car launches off the line like a cannon. Failed smog, but was a simple fix by replacing the catalytic and now it definitely feels like gained a little bit of pep. Probably had a clogged artery. Lets see. Patriots choked against Denver, but they won again last year.... Goes to show you just how much I've updated the site. Lakers can't decide if the want to stay above or below .500.....bleh.....Just pour me a drink. Cheers! |
